Sky Clinic – January, 2026

What a way to spend the January 7th holiday!

We teamed up with our amazing partner, Rodwell Learning Center, to host a special full-day training camp for our beginner team, Skywalker. For many of these students, it was their first time ever playing Ultimate Frisbee for a whole day!

Here is what went down.

The Spirit Of The Game

We learned the most important rule of Ultimate: The Spirit of the Game.

Unlike football or basketball, Ultimate has no referees. We taught the Skywalkers that it is up to them to make the calls. But we also explained why this matters off the field:

  • Integrity (Doing the Right Thing): In Ultimate, if you foul someone, you have to admit it yourself; even if it means you lose the point. We taught the students that honesty is doing the right thing when no one is watching. This is a superpower in school and in life.
  • Solving Your Own Problems: In the real world, you won’t always have a teacher or parent there to fix an argument. On the field, players learned to stop, talk calmly, and solve the problem themselves. It teaches you to have a voice and listen to others.
  • Respect Over Winning: It is easy to be nice when you are winning. It is hard to be nice when the game is close. We learned that you can compete hard and still treat your opponent with kindness.

If you can solve a conflict on the frisbee field while your heart is racing,
you can handle anything life throws at you.

Beware of the Crocodile!

You know you worked hard when the “Crocodile” visits you. And no, we don’t mean a real animal!

We had a few players get leg cramps (what we call the “crocodile bite” xd) because they were running so much. But even with sore legs, everyone got back up to finish the game.

Spirit Circle

We finished the day with a Spirit Circle. This is a special tradition where both teams stand together in a circle, arms around each other, to talk about the game. It reminds us that even though we compete, we are all part of the same community.
